Weight Loss & Metabolic Health
Lose fat. Protect muscle. Treat the whole picture. Not just start a GLP-1.
Tirzepatide and semaglutide changed medical weight loss. Dose increases are a normal part of treatment. But when the answer every month is “increase the dose,” side effects pile up. Nausea, vomiting, and poor intake can lead to dehydration, and what started as manageable can become a reason to quit—or a reason to end up in the ER.
We treat those problems early, and when progress stalls we find out why.
Medical weight loss built around more than a prescription.
Weight loss doesn’t always respond to another diet, another exercise plan, or another attempt at doing more on your own. Forge adds medical tools beyond a GLP-1, reviews what may be working against you, and stays involved after treatment begins.
Depending on your needs, options may include:
- Additional appetite medications
- Insulin-resistance treatment, such as metformin
- Targeted supplements
- Specific nutrition and training changes
- Medication and lifestyle review
Manage the medication around you.
Forge doesn’t increase your dose every month simply because the next dose exists. When a dose is working, it can stay. When an increase makes sense, smaller steps can be used rather than forcing a large jump.
Nausea, reflux, constipation, poor intake, dehydration, and fatigue can derail treatment if they’re allowed to build. Forge treats them as part of the medical problem and changes the pace or plan when needed.
Protect muscle and function.
The goal is fat loss—without unnecessarily sacrificing muscle, strength, or energy along the way.
Forge builds protein targets, resistance training, hydration, and recovery into treatment to help protect lean mass and keep you functioning while the weight comes off.
Keep the whole plan moving with you.
Meaningful weight loss changes more than the scale. As your body and metabolic health change, medication needs and other parts of your care can change with them.
And sometimes something else is working against the result. Low testosterone, for example, can affect muscle, energy, and body composition. Forge can address those factors as part of the same plan rather than keeping weight loss in its own lane.
Maintenance is planned along the way, so reaching your goal isn’t where the strategy ends.
Common Questions
Do you prescribe compounded or brand-name GLP-1 medications?
Both, depending on what fits your plan. Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy.
Brand-name medications can also be prescribed when clinically appropriate, but pricing and availability can’t be guaranteed, and Forge does not submit or manage insurance prior authorizations.
Either way, your prescription is filled and shipped directly to you by the pharmacy.
Do I need to qualify the way insurance requires?
No. Forge is a direct-pay practice, so your plan isn’t built around your insurance company’s coverage rules.
That doesn’t make a GLP-1 automatic. Your physician still reviews your health history, goals, risks, labs, prior treatment attempts, and whether medication is medically appropriate.
Will I need medication after I reach my goal?
Many people need ongoing medication to maintain their weight loss. Reaching your goal is a reason to reassess treatment with your physician.
We review your appetite, weight trend, overall health, and how you’re tolerating treatment to decide whether to continue, adjust, or consider stopping medication with close follow-up. Weight regain can happen after stopping, even with consistent nutrition and exercise.
We begin discussing maintenance before you reach your goal, including what continued care and medication may cost.
